Originally the Huddersfield Scientific and Mechanic Institute, the University of Huddersfield can trace back its root to 1825. It is a founding member of the Northern Consortium and also a part of the Yorkshire Universities. It has been a university since 1992 with a single campus located just outside the city in the north of England.
