Everything about Student Accommodation Glassboro

Glassboro is a borough in the Philadelphia metropolitan region that is located in Gloucester County, New Jersey, in the United States. According to the 2020 US census, there were 23,149 people living in the borough, which is its largest decennial count ever. This represents an increase of 4,570 (+24.6%) from the 18,579 people counted in the 2010 census. This, in turn, represented a decrease of 489 (βˆ’2.6%) from the 19,068 people counted in the 2000 census. A large portion of Glassboro's recent and anticipated expansion has been linked to the development of Rowan University, formerly known as Glassboro State College and founded in 1923. Glassboro is in South Jersey, as is the surrounding county of Gloucester.

A resolution passed by the New Jersey Legislature established Glassboro as a township, taking over parts of Clayton Township. A portion of the township was taken to create Pitman (May 24, 1905) and Elk Township (April 17, 1891). On March 18, 1920, Glassboro Borough was established, taking the place of Glassboro Township. The borough's glass industry inspired its name.

Explore Glassboro

The popular park known as Glassboro Town Square is where Rowan Boulevard meets Downtown Glassboro. Its public open space, where guests can enjoy the picturesque vista and kid-friendly setting, is its key feature. This super clean 1.75-acre park features several plants and trees, paver plazas, fountains, seats, tables, and art displays in addition to well-kept lawns. Being in the center of the vibrant downtown makes it a popular place for locals to get together, especially during the summer when public events such as festivals, food trucks, live music, and events for both adults and children are common. Although summer is the ideal season to visit this spectacular park, other times of year, such as the Christmas season, are also ideal because of the abundance of eye-pleasing displays and pretty lights.

A great local park for families with children and dogs is East New Street Park. You can watch your children play in the open field or on the playground slides while having a picnic on the grass, at picnic tables, or in the pavilion. For anyone who would like to practice or participate in these activities, the park also features tiny baseball and soccer fields. If you're a pet owner, you can bring your animals to the section reserved for dogs.

Student Life in Glassboro

You are learning and developing during your time in college. And the universities are, too. Every year, the campuses’ offerings grow – from volunteer opportunities to student government to recreational activities – the campus has something to offer everyone! In the words of Henry Rowan, "education is still the most important means of changing a person's life." In that spirit, the Division of Student Life will function as each student's principal agent of change, providing high-quality, outcome-based services. Student Life will be driven by servant-leaders who are dedicated to preserving Henry and Betty Rowan's legacy. In such spirit, their priorities will be respecting the past without letting it dictate the present or the future and keeping effectiveness and efficiency in mind.

The campuses work to support their community through essential services. There are initiatives to help you succeed, a variety of lifestyle activities, and a wellness community to help you thrive during your college experiences through the three divisions: Student Success, Student Life, and Strategic Enrollment Management. You, the student, are at the center of the university’s world - thanks to experiential learning, leadership opportunities, and career placement network.
